1.1. The Policy "On Involvement of Volunteers in the Activities of the Public Organization "GO GLOBAL" (hereinafter referred to as the "Policy") defines the procedure for involving volunteers in the work of the Organization, their rights and obligations, and cooperation with the Organization.
1.2. The Policy is developed and based on the norms of the current Ukrainian legislation and the norms of the Charter of the Organization.
2.1. A volunteer is an individual citizen of Ukraine (who has reached the age of eighteen or fourteen years with the consent of parents (adoptive parents), foster parents, parents or guardian), foreigners, or stateless persons (who have reached the age of eighteen) and who voluntarily carries out socially oriented non-profit activities by providing volunteer assistance.
2.2 Volunteering is an activity performed by a volunteer.
2.3 Volunteer activity is a voluntary, selfless, socially oriented, non-profit activity carried out by volunteers and volunteer organizations by providing volunteer assistance.
3.1. The main purpose of engaging volunteers is to effectively conduct educational activities within the framework of the Organization's projects and programs and to assist in the implementation of its mission and objectives, as well as to form a community of volunteers and promote volunteering, in particular educational volunteering, in Ukraine and around the world, cultural exchange, and the promotion of tolerance to different cultures of the world.
4.1 Candidates for volunteer positions are selected on a competitive basis. The competition is announced as needed on the website and/or social media of the organization.
4.2. Stages of volunteer recruitment:
announcement of the recruitment of volunteers (announcement is placed on the Organization's website, social pages, and/or in available media, partner resources, etc.;)
receiving questionnaires from potential volunteers;
interviewing potential volunteers;
selecting volunteers according to the criteria defined for each competition;
orientation meeting or introductory training for volunteers;
holding team-building events for volunteers (additional trainings, meetings, exchange of experience, etc.).
4.3. The criteria for recruiting volunteers may vary depending on the area of activity, project features and the specifics of the activities in which the volunteers will be involved.
4.4. Based on the results of the selection process, the volunteer candidate is offered to join the Volunteer Agreement by checking the "yes" box in the "Joining the Agreement" section when filling out the "Terms of Cooperation with the Volunteer" form.
4.5. The Organization:
Provides the volunteer with ongoing support during his/her volunteer work, as well as with the necessary information materials, support and mediation in case of difficult or disputable situations.
Provides training for volunteers (if necessary);
provides a certificate upon completion of volunteer activities.
5.1. The volunteer shall be guided by the following principles in his/her activities:
Solidarity - the volunteer's activity is aimed at achieving common goals and does not contradict its principles.
Voluntariness - a volunteer provides assistance of his/her own free will in the chosen area of volunteer activity. No one can be forced to act as a volunteer, a volunteer acts at the behest of his or her heart, it is always his or her decision and desire to contribute to creating a better world.
Legality - volunteer activities must not contradict the legislation of Ukraine.
Gratuitousness - volunteering is always a free and selfless activity. A volunteer does not receive money or other material benefits from providing volunteer assistance, but may be reimbursed for expenses related to his or her activities; instead, he or she gains opportunities for personal development, unique knowledge and skills, valuable contacts, and the opportunity to realize his or her potential by helping others.
Conscientiousness - a volunteer who has committed to performing a particular job must complete it on time.
Public benefit is always at the heart of volunteering. Solving or mitigating a social problem is what every volunteer or volunteer group focuses on. It does not matter how much help is provided, what matters is how well the volunteers manage to be close to those who need it the most.
Involvement in GO GLOBAL projects, events, activities - we are all one team.
5.2 The volunteer has the right to:
proper conditions for volunteering, including receiving complete and accurate information about the procedure and conditions of volunteering, an introductory training and all necessary information and training materials;
other rights provided for by the Agreement on Conducting Volunteer Activities and the legislation of Ukraine;
participation in the development of programs in which he/she is directly involved;
Receiving a Certificate of Volunteer Activity from the Organization and, if necessary, a letter of recommendation or a letter of confirmation of volunteer activity with the Organization;
obtaining reliable information about the Organization, areas, and the specifics of its activities;
participation in training courses, seminars and workshops organized, initiated or recommended by the Organization to improve the quality of volunteer activities.
5.3. The volunteer is obliged to:
- fulfill in good faith and in a timely manner the duties stipulated by the volunteer agreement;
- avoid actions and deeds that may negatively affect the reputation of the volunteer and the Organization;
- comply with the Volunteer Code.
6. AGREEMENT FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES
6.1. The Volunteer Activity Agreement shall be concluded by checking the "Yes" box in the "Accession to the Agreement" section when filling out the "Terms of Cooperation with the Volunteer" form and shall contain all requirements and conditions, as well as the procedure for carrying out activities.
7.1. The Policy shall be approved by the Board of the Organization by a simple majority of votes of the Board.
7.2. Amendments and additions to the Policy shall be made, if necessary, by publishing an updated version of the Policy on the official website of the Organization. If a Volunteer who acted in accordance with and based on the Policy in the version that has expired does not notify the Organization within 5 working days from the date of publication of the updated version of the Policy of his/her refusal to perform his/her duties based on the updated version of the Policy, it is considered that such Volunteer has accepted all changes to the Policy and acts in accordance with and based on the Policy in the version contained on the official website of the Organization.
